Coordinator, Spiritual Life -Part Time

The Coordinator of Spiritual Life assists the Spiritual Life team and works with the Campus Pastor across all divisions (e.g., Student Life, Academic Affairs, etc.) to help foster the spiritual life on campus, specifically focusing on students’ spiritual development through mentorship, corporate worship, pastoral care, etc. The Coordinator is responsible to help plan, develop, and implement meaningful opportunities for spiritual and faith formation that align with Ambrose’s mission and vision.


Months: 10 months, September 2024 to June 2025 
Hours per week: 30 hours



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help steward the spiritual life of the campus community with a specific focus on students.

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of a relevant and integrated chapel program for the campus community.

  • Assist the Director with recruiting, training, and evaluating student volunteers in the Spiritual Life department.

  • Assist with planning and executing the Deeper Life Day, Pastor’s Conference, Day of Prayer, etc. This includes other campus-wide events that foster spiritual vitality on campus.

  • In collaboration with the Manager of Audio and Visual Services, assist with the scheduling of sound and video personnel for chapel and event production.

  • Work with the Campus Services department to assist with coordination of chapel set up and tear-down.

  • In collaboration with the Communications department, promote Spiritual Life events.

  • Actively interface with faculty and the Student Life team.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related field is required.

  • Minimum of 3 or more years of leading and managing volunteers is required.

  • Experience leading volunteers in a ministry context is an asset.

  • Experience planning events, worship experiences, leading corporate worship, and team development is required.


Skills

  • Gifted in the areas of music, worship leading, creative, leading volunteers, and administration.

  • Organized, detail-driven, and administrative.

  • Able to multi-task.

  • Able to lead and mentor students.

  • Able to work effectively and supervise student leaders and volunteers.

  • Able to work and lead collaboratively with others to build consensus and get buy-in.

  • Skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution.

  • Able to appropriately exercise independent judgement, discretion, and confidentiality when responding to sensitive issues, complaints, and student issues.

  • Displays a high level of intercultural competence in working with a multicultural student and staff population.

  • Knowledgeable and understands creative design, photography, video, social media, and content creation.

Additional Information

  • A compensation package commensurate with education and experience is available.

  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background criminal check and academic transcripts.
